In my national costume there is a flower that is the source of inspiration of the dress. The flower is an apple blossom and it is the symbol of the community Lier. The national costume is a dress which is put together with a skirt and a vest. There is much silver detail on the dress that you put on, and the silver is also inspired by the apple blossom. The fabric is in cotton and flax/wool and the embroidery detail is smooth stitching which is filling the apple blossom. The color is dark blue and the apple blossom is pink and white. The detail in the blossom is green and yellow, yellow in the middle of the flower and green to the leaf. The shirt is white with details on the sleeves and at the collar. The detail is embroideries of the apple blossom. The national costume is for the people who live in Lier or have family in Lier. The designer of the Lier national costume is Ruth Strand.
